eMENtal Health Platform Pilot

Mental Health Reform recognise the continued challenges mental health services providers face in adapting their services to meet the needs of their clients during COVID-19.

Over the last number of months, we have continued to look for innovative ways to support our members to provide these vital services to people across Ireland during the pandemic. As part of our eMental Health project (eMEN), a cross-European initiative that promotes the development and implementation of eMental Health, we have launched a new pilot programme with Wellola, to support our member organisations to get online quickly.

The pilot programme offers our members free of charge access to the Wellola portal for an initial 3-month period, which can be used for providing online mental health supports to clients, including secure phone and video consultations and a client management system. We hope this will enable organisation to provide secure services to people who need them now, when face-to-face supports are not accessible or very limited.

Mental Health Reform’s eMEN project will facilitate the pilot which aims to prototype and test the feasibility and value of providing a dedicated route for community and voluntary sector mental health providers; we will draw on the learning from the feedback provided by our members, to support our broader work in the eMental health space. If the pilot is successful, we will aim to facilitate ongoing access to the Wellola portal for relevant community and voluntary sector in the future.

The focus of this pilot is on Mental Health Reform members that provide quality assured therapy and structured psycho-education programmes that already operate in the more traditional offline modes.  Access to the pilot programme is currently limited to service providers who are members of Mental Health Reform and organisations collaborating with the eMEN project Ireland.
