Gráinne Loughran is a policy, advocacy and research professional with over ten years’ experience across policy development, research, communications and journalism. Prior to commencing her role at Mental Health Reform, she worked as Policy Manager at ALONE, where she led policy development, supported strategic advocacy with political and statutory stakeholders, and co-authored research outputs. She has worked across a broad range of policy areas, including health, housing, welfare and energy, and coordinated several NGO stakeholder groups, including the Loneliness Taskforce and the Home Care Coalition.

 
Gráinne is passionate about ensuring that mental health policy and practice are informed by evidence and supported by lived experience. She is a member of the Academic Institute Steering Group at St Patrick’s Mental Health Services, supporting research and evidence-informed practice in mental health. Gráinne holds a Master’s in Social Science in Rights and Social Policy from Maynooth University.
