Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890) experienced mental health difficulties for much of his adult life and they would probably would have been diagnosed as being Bipolar in more recent years.
Despite his many challenges Van Gogh’s paintings are world renowned. He often created some of his best works when he was hospitalised. His iconic painting Starry Night expresses the night’s sky haunting beauty and is a symbol of beauty in darkness.
