No more staffing delays – Mental Health Reform urges local action on mental health staffing
Mental Health Reform has asked people to contact their local elected representatives, in an effort to keep pressure on the Government to honour its commitment to appoint new staff for community mental health services this year.
Orla Barry, Director of Mental Health Reform, commented: “Last year, we saw unacceptable delays in appointing the promised staff to community mental health teams. Such delays cannot be allowed to happen with the 477 new staff that have been promised for 2013.”
“These multidisciplinary staff include much needed psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and social care workers – to work alongside doctors and nurses in community mental health teams”, Ms. Barry continued.
