This interactive online workshop equips employers and managers with the knowledge and confidence to support staff experiencing mental health difficulties in the workplace. Grounded in Irish equality legislation and human rights principles, the session explores what reasonable accommodation really means in practice—and how to apply it meaningfully. With a focus on building inclusive, supportive work environments, participants will gain practical tools, legal insight, and real-world examples to help break stigma and uphold the rights of all employees.

This workshop is designed for employers, managers, HR professionals, and team leaders across all sectors who are committed to fostering mentally healthy and inclusive workplaces. Whether you’re overseeing a small team or managing organisational policies at scale, this session will provide you with the legal understanding and practical guidance needed to support employees with mental health difficulties. No prior expertise is required—just a willingness to learn and engage.

At the end of the session, participants will:

  • Be aware of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the rights of people with mental health difficulties in the workplace
  • Understand the different models of disability in practice
  • Gain insights into the protections under the Equality Acts for people with mental health difficulties

  • Engage in discussions, challenges, and shared insights through case study practice
